MAKING ETRO

In travelling, it is the route that counts, not the destination. This is Marco De Vincenzo's way of seeing: a path in which one creates by doing and layering, following the liberating energy of instinct, indulging intuition, imagining the elsewhere in a concentric series of encroachments.

The resulting aesthetic is a free spiral Metissage, in which the body is enhanced by the flow of the fabric, sculpted by tailoring, revealed by transparencies, decorated by the symbolism of patterns and jewels that mark further paths and add more layers. It is the twists that define movements and new ways of working with prints, hiding them to release them as subdued flourishes, flashes, illuminations.
